WHAT IS INNER HEALING?

* Inner Healing is prayer and counsel for sanctification and transformation of ones life.
* It is a tool to mature His people.
* It is a process to help one apply the crucified and resurrected life of Jesus Christ and his blood to the part of the heart that did not fully "get the message" since receiving Jesus Christ as Savior.
* It is a tool to help one live a more effective full victorious life in Christ.
* It is a tool to achieve freedom from bondage.
* It is a tool of prayer and counseling to make salvation effective in all dimensions of ones life and character.
* It is a tool to enable one to clean out the "inner chambers" where hurts, doubts, rejection and fears have been buried or stored because of being unable or unwilling to deal with them when they occurred.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING?

* Inner Healing Ministry involves prayer as a major component of the process.
* Inner Healing is aimed at bringing healing to the whole person by bringing the power of Christ to bear on the roots, which caused the damage.
* Professional counseling concentrates on self-image. Inner Healing concentrates on ones identity in Christ.
* Professional counseling believes one is whatever life writes on the consciousness.
* Inner Healing Ministry believes that a Christian can choose how he will react to what forms him.
* Inner Healing is based on the fact that we are not innocnet victims who must be reconditioned in order to learn to cope, but that we are guilty and need forgiveness.
* Inner Healing emphasizes learning and accepting who God is and who one is in Christ.

WHY IS INNER HEALING NEEDED?

Many people experience serious personal and interpersonal problems for which there seems to be no cause or answer. Many constantly struggle or feel hindered in the transition from the "old" creative to the "new" creature that the Word tells them they are. Many go from one program to another, one bible study to another and from one counselor to another and never find answers.

Often they have experience rejection, lack of love and nurturing, neglect, betrayal and mental or physical abuse. These experiences can be so painful that there is no conscious memory of the lasting pain. As a result they avoid anything that will stimulate the memories. They stuff the memories and pain in their "inner chambers" and over time "forget".

They seek to survive and cope with life through a myriad of defense mechanism including denial. Some rationalize or try to surpress the pain with food, drugs, sex, violence or anger. Their relationships with parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers and God are in shambles.

They keep God at a distance and lack the ability to fully trust Him. The result is brokenness and exhaustion of soul from trying to maintain the facade that they are "OK".

The roots or original causes cannot be changed so the result is hurts, issues and needs that are not healed, resolved or met. This causes injury to the soul so painful that they grow layers of "scar tissue" over them in the form of self-control, manipulation, self-reliance, self-protection, self-defense and such.

This provides relief but because the wounds have not been dealt with properly to enable healing, they fester. Symptoms of fear, distrust, doubt, unforgiveness, pain, insecurity, anger, depression, resentment, wrong desires, excessive neediness, hopelessness begins to appear. Illness and disease in the wounded soul often is manifested as illness of the physical body.

Because these symptoms are so painful and unacceptable there is an attempt to fix them with wrong behavior such as: drugs, alcohol, denial, programs, serving, businesses, psychosomatic illnesses, legalism, intolerance, criticalness, perfectionism, overeating, sexual gratification, sarcasm, adultery and such.

This results in wrong ideas, beliefts, attitudes, motives, and wrong patterns of thinking.

There is then an attempt at justification and rationalization of the behavior with logic, reasoning, arguments, denial and defensiveness accompanied by anger.

At this point some serious strongholds may have opened the doors to demonic activity and control. When this happens help is needed by someone coming alongside to guide him back to God's unconditional love and healing.

Inner Healing and Deliverance Through Prayer is designed to do just that.

WHAT IS THE DELIVERANCE PART?

Because there is a sin factor involved, powers of darkness can enter and control ones life. They cannot touch ones spirit, which belongs to God. However they can control the soul (mind, emotions and will).

When Inner Healing is needed, deliverance from the powers of darkness often is necessary for the healing to be complete.

The sin factor falls into five categories:
* Sins of emotion and attitude.
* Sins we commit against others.
* Sins that others commit against us.
* Sins of our fathers: generational sins and cures.
* Sins that we commit against ourselves.

Powers of darkness need a legal right in order to have control. That right is provided when there are things (traumatic events, sin, unforgiveness, abuse, etc.) in the person's past or present life to which they can attach. These things are often forgotten and buried in our "inner chambers". When exposed and taken away by God, through prayer, the powers of darkness must leave.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF INNER HEALING?

The process beings with an interview exploring the reason for seeking Inner Healing and looking for events in a person's life that may related to the present problem.

Damaged attitudes underlying the responses towards self, others and God is often revealed in the interview by the presence of unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, fear, a critical spirit, self-rejection, fear, worrry, anxiety, depression, rebellion, guilt, shame and other emtions.

During the sessions under the direction and leading of the Holy Spirit we move through the events of ones life including childhood, adolescence and adulthood. We explore such things as early family relationships, school experiences, friendships, sexual relationships, emotional relationships, work experiences, accidents, and deaths of family members and friends.

Various areas are explored in relation to these events including: (not necessarily in this order.)
* Generational patterns and sins
* Cures, vows and soul ties.
* Occult activity.
* Counterfeit beliefs and deception.
* Idols.
* Fear and Pride.
* Rejection and rebellion.
* Bondage (both general and sexual)
* Bitterness and unforgiveness.
* Physical healing.

Each of these areas is addressed in authoritative prayer where Jesus is invited into the situations often putting the cross and blood of Jesus over the situation. Participants are expected to actively participate in this process.

Homework is assigned weekly. Focus of the homework is in two basic areas. "Who God is, and Who I Am in Christ." Reading and prayer is assigned.

The active participation of the person's will is important during the sessions, between sessions and afterward.

Though the power of the Holy Spirit during ministry will release the person from the roots underlying dysfunctional behavior and thinking, total healing does not take place during the sessions but is an ongoing process.

Therefore the goal is to teach the participants to continue the work of healing by claiming the power of the Holy Spirit through authoritative prayer, on their own, and to give them the tools to do so.

WHAT IS MY COMMITMENT?

1. Commit to a minimum of 14 two-hour sessions.
2. Commit to being on time for sessions.
3. Commit to completing assigned homework.
4. Commit to daily prayer.
5. Commit to participation once a week in corporate prayer.
6. Commit to finishing the process.

* Man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death. All human beings are born with a sinful nature.
* Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture, as representative and substitionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
* The resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
* All who receive by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
* In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
* The spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
